Terms & Conditions
PLEASE NOTE: All butterfly orders must be made and deposits paid one month prior to your event date. A 50% deposit is required when placing your order, with the balance due not less than one week prior to delivery date. Deposits are 50% refundable up to 14 days prior to delivery date and non-refundable thereafter. We accept payment via check or money order.
WEATHER RESTRICTIONS & CANCELLATION POLICY: Butterflies should not be released if the temperature is below 65 degrees Fahrenheit (about 19 degrees Celsius) or at night. Releasing them at temperatures below 65 degrees will cause them to fly sluggish. If you release them at night, the butterflies will not fly at all. Also, there needs to be at least 30 minutes of sunlight left prior to release.
If weather is a concern, we will gladly refund your entire cost as long as the order is cancelled at least 6 days prior to your event date. For example, if the event is on a Saturday, the order must be cancelled by Monday at the latest. After the 6th day, there will be a 50% cancellation fee. We will verify weather conditions before cancellation. To cancel an order for weather, please call us.
There is a $25.00 cancellation fee for all non-weather related cancellations. Orders cancelled within 10 days of the event for non-weather related issues will be charged a 50% cancellation fee rather than the flat $25.00.
REFUNDS: No refunds unless specified above. Kentucky Butterfly Farm guarantees a healthy mailing of butterflies. If butterflies are received by mail, we will not be responsible for any loss due to mishandling of the package after receipt. You must be present to receive the package on the arrival date. Kentucky Butterfly Farm will not be liable if directions for the handling of butterflies upon receipt are not followed. Shipping and handling costs are never refundable.
